Tannery Development 2012 (20120513)
Aerial photo of the tannery re-development â€" June 2012. At the end of 2011 the re-development of the old Manor Tannery site began. The re-development consisted partly of new-build on land formerly owned by the Manor Tannery and the repair and conversion of those of the tannery buildings that were of architectural merit. These were to become residential and commercial units. The company J Croggon and Sons had traded from the Manor Tannery since 1845 but the Croggon family had operated tanneries in Grampound since 1712. The company finally ceased trading in 2002. (Squire)

T J Lobb Cars Cornwall
T J Lobb Cars Cornwall (20110388)
In the autumn of 2011 Tim Lobb Cars, Cornwall, the long-established garage in Grampound, took a lease on the disused petrol station at the west end of the village. Considerable renovation of the premises took place before the opening for the car sales side of the business. Tim Lobb first opened his car repair, tuning and servicing business in 1970 at the old forge, opposite the Dolphin Inn. The petrol station, now closed for over 10 years, was certainly trading as long ago as the 1950s and was once renowned for its beautiful gardens. (Stovell)
Royal Wedding April 2011
Royal Wedding April 2011 (20110362)
On the occasion of their marriage on 29th April 2011, the Grampound with Creed Parish Council sent a letter of congratulation to Kate Middleton and Prince William of Wales. On the morning of the wedding, it was announced from Buckingham Palace that their Royal Highnesses were to be styled ‘Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’. Whenever the Duchess was referred to by her Christian name in the days after the wedding, it became accepted practice to call her ‘Catherine’. She will be the sixth Queen Consort of England since 1066 to bear this name. This is their reply to the Grampound with Creed Parish Council letter. (Parish Council Collection)
