Manor Tannery
Interior of building 17, Manor Tannery after closure. Sited adjacent to the lime pits at the bottom end of the tannery site, the oldest area. At the end are two of the 'beams' on which the hides were spread to allow the use of a large curved knife (a 'fleshing knife') to remove hair and fat after soaking in lime and prior to tanning.
