The bungalow at the garage showing the garden. This was before the bridge was rebuilt in 1969; the wall in the foreground stood there between 1834 and 1969. The river is to the left. Many of the flowers are dahlias for which Mr Dunn, who then owned the garage, was well known. His greenhouse is in the background. (Hicks)

The Grampound garage in the 1960s. Mrs Dunn, then the owner, is on the right with two customers. The pumps were right by the side of the, already narrow, old bridge. When vehicles stopped to fill up the road was effectively reduced to a single lane. (Hicks)

Mr Solomon's horse bus outside Grampound School c1900. This was not the service bus to St Austell and Truro and so this was probably a special event – an outing of some sort perhaps. Mr James ran the service bus and the driver was Will Croggon; it went to Truro on a Wednesday and St Austell on a Friday. (see also 20090156) (Hicks)

Grampound Town Hall pre-1894 when the clock was replaced as a result of a donation by the Rev Charles Henry Vivian. A plaque noting this gift is now attached to this elevation. Note the oil lamp outside the Church. The last man to fill this was Charles Knowles who is thought to have lived at Myrtle Cottage on Old Hill. (Hicks)

This was at the site of the old bowling green, Quarry Parc in Creed Lane where the club was located between 1921and 1927. The Bowling Club moved to its present home in 1927. On the left in the back row stands Mr Ralph James; he had been affected by polio and went everywhere by horse. The third from the right in the back row (wearing flat cap) is Mr Cundy, whose blacksmith's forge was located at the foot of Old Hill. (Hicks)
